　　Showtime已经大方地给出了该剧的第七季预订, 可惜的是，在第六季拍摄中，该剧的人气演员【彼得·费辛利Peter Facinelli】扮演Dr.Fitch Cooper提出希望结束合约，剧组也点头了，所以在第七季中他将不再作为常规出现。

该剧改编自轰动全美的真人真事。默多家族系南卡罗莱纳州最有权势的法律世家，但一宗致命船难，竟然牵扯多宗离奇命案。

本剧改编自BBC Radio 4非常成功的广播剧《Annika Stranded》，由Nick Walker创作。Nicola Walker饰演主角Annika Strandhed，一名敏锐、机智又神秘的督察。剧集讲述Annika领导一支新组建的海上凶案专家组，负责调查发生在苏格兰航道上原因不明、残忍恶劣，看上去难以解释的谋杀案。

　　Thirteen year-old Holly Hobbie lives with her family in Collinsville, a picture perfect North American small town with main-street values. Each episode follows Holly trying to make the world a better place, while tackling the everyday challenges of growing up – from bullies to breakouts, crushes to curfews. Holly’s principle mission in Season 1 is saving the struggling Calico Café which is run by her grandmother, as her relationship with Amy (best friend since the age of two) is tested by the arrival of new girl in town, Piper. Holly is a budding singer/songwriter, and catchy original music performed by Holly (Ruby Jay, 485k IG followers) connects which each episode’s plot during live performances at Holly’s open-mic events at the Café.

　　该剧根据澳大利亚同名流行剧集改编，澳大利亚原版剧集的创作人Peter Duncan亲自撰写美国版剧本并担任制片人。故事的主人公Keegan Joye（艾美奖得主Greg Kinnear）是一名罪犯辩护律师，聪明、乐观、反传统并且天生带有自毁倾向。他从不知「谨慎」为何物，说话更是口无遮拦，从不思考后果。他既打重婚这种小官司，也打「食人恶魔」这种举国震惊的大官司。他最喜欢接手那些别人都不敢碰的、看似已经毫无希望翻盘的官司，特别是拯救已经无可救药甚至有些绝望的人——因为那些人就像是他自己。此外，该剧还将描述Keegan的个人生活。在他帮助别人打官司的时候，他自己也面临许多麻烦——他在赌博中欠下高额赌债；国税局天天找他麻烦；与多个相互认识的女人有私情；过度亢奋的儿子；烦人的前妻Maddy（Miranda Otto）；还有两个时时刻刻要他出面调解矛盾的已婚好友，Ben和Scarlett（Necar Zadegan）。Scarlett过去和Keegan一起读法学院时曾和他发生过性关系。
　　Bojana Novakovic扮演高级妓女Mikki，聪明、性感，要价不菲。她已经与Joye保持了五年的「关系」，虽然Joye爱她，但她却有更大的计划。她之所以干这一行是想攒钱去读法学院。她拥有极强的察言观色能力，能够准确判断真话与假话——特别是Joye所说的话。
　　John Ortiz扮演Joye的朋友Ben，两人读法学院时就认识了。他们就像是「阴和阳」，Ben守旧、传统，不媚俗，是一个相当正派的好男人。当Joye和Ben在一起时，Joye是个「表演家」，而Ben更像个「幕后工作者」。 David Harbour扮演Keegan生活里的「灾星」——一个过分较真、过分谨慎的国税局代理人——他发誓要查出Keegan的逃税证据。 Tara Summers扮演Keegan的助理Leanne Zander，一个能力出众、很有耐性但是过分严肃的漂亮女人，善于使用非常规手段来完成工作。他和老板Keegan的关系很好，不仅帮他做案情研究和法律研究，还偶尔帮他洗衣服。

　　A group of aliens has come to Earth to learn about its population, customs, etc. To avoid detection, they have taken on human form which gives them human emotions, physical needs etc. WITHOUT the understanding of what they mean or the inhibitions normally present in humans. Their leader takes the position of a college professor, their military expert as his sister, their intelligence expert, supposedly oldest of group takes form of his teenage son. The uninhibited reactions turn everyday events into unusual situations.

　　Mrs. Brown's Boys became a runaway success upon its initial broadcast. Every episode aired won its timeslot for RTÉ, with an average viewership of 753,500 in January, 2011. One episode's rating beat that of RTÉ's own ratings giant The Late Late Show, with 856,000 viewers tuning in to watch. However, critics disliked the show. "The whole thing is entirely predicated on viewers finding a man dressed as a foul-mouthed elderly woman intrinsically funny," noted Bernice Harrison in the Irish Times. "If you do, you’re away in a hack (and the viewing figures are astronomical), but if you don’t, and you think that died out with Les Dawson and Dick Emery, then it’s a long half-hour." The Irish Independent said that Mrs Brown's Boys was the type of TV programme that "that makes you vaguely embarrassed to be Irish". The Daily Telegraph's Sam Richards noted that show's comedy has a "rudimentary nature", consisting of "an old-fashioned blend of silly voices and slapstick, played out in front of a live studio audience who collapse into giggles at the mere mention of the word “willy”.
