2015年4月25日，尼泊尔发生矩震级8.1级地震。地震造成珠穆朗玛峰山体晃动，引发数次雪崩和山体滑坡，波及邻近山区。地震发生时数百人在珠穆朗玛峰，雪崩至少令19人丧生。而地震引起的山体滑坡造成的伤害更为严重，直接将容纳了三百多人的蓝塘村完全掩埋。此次地震震源距离尼泊尔首都加德满都仅七十七公里，给当地带来了极大的伤害。本片中剪辑了地震发生时，身处喜马拉雅山脉中的亲历者们所拍摄的画面，重现了灾难来临时人类的渺小与无能，记录了遇难者生前最后的影像和幸免于难的登山者和旅行者的心路历程。
