 美琳（Kelly Sheridan 配音）是一个热爱大海的女孩，在一场冲浪比赛中，美琳遇见了一只名为祖玛（Tabitha St. Germain 配音）的海豚，海豚告诉美琳，她拥有能够在水中呼吸的特异功能，因为她的母亲是海之女王卡丽莎（Nicole Oliver 配音），也就是说，一直被蒙在鼓里的美琳是人鱼公主。 又惊又喜的美琳将整件事件告诉了好友范伦（Nakia Burrise 配音）和海蒂（Maryke Hendrikse 配音），两个姑娘都替美琳感到高兴。不幸的是，美琳得知位于海底的海蓝王国正在发生一些邪恶而可怕的事情，而美琳是能够挽救王国于水火之中的唯一人选。就这样，美琳开始了她的海底奇妙探险，在重重的危险之中，美琳能够顺利完成任务吗？
