故事发生在遥远的古代，那个世界里，人妖混居，世间永无太平。王生（方力申 饰）是一介平凡书生，在乱世之中，个性胆小懦弱的他只求能够安心读书，平安过活。一天，一位名叫仙儿（周秀娜 饰）的神秘女子不请自来，突然出现在了王生的面前，王生虽然不知仙儿究竟是何方神圣，但依旧被她身上所散发出来的媚气所深深吸引。 　　自仙儿出现之后，城中屡屡发生离奇的杀人案件，被害者均因为心脏被掏出而死，没有人知道这些失踪的心脏到底去了哪里。少女小翠（谈莉娜 饰）暗恋着王生，看到他被仙儿迷得神魂颠倒，小翠的心中很不是滋味。一次偶然中，小翠窥见了仙儿用妖法迷惑王生的秘密，心急如焚的她决定靠自己的力量揭开仙儿的“画皮”。
