郝帅的姐姐在他们共同经历的一场大火中丧生，因此郝帅立志长大后成为一名消防战士。郝帅几经波折终于考到了消防部队中的精英队伍“飞豹中队”。年轻气盛的郝帅由于个人恩怨、救援观念等等原因，不断的和队长林毅发生冲突，公然挑战队长的权威。在几轮比武和救援后，林毅发现郝帅不但在消防业务上有过人的能力，他的个人英雄主义更是很像年轻时候的自己。一次交通救援后，郝帅无意间发现，林毅就是当年那场大火中放弃自己姐姐的消防兵。林毅充满愧疚，他明白了郝帅为何宁可牺牲自己，也不愿放弃受困群众的原因。最终，林毅的牺牲使郝帅明白，英雄的使命，是要肩负更重的责任和更多的自我牺牲。而他，终将不负众望，前仆后继，披荆斩棘，带领队伍，做到最好。
