　　《The Good Guys》是一部传统的警匪（罪案）剧，但它有几个值得注意的关键词：幽默，守旧派警察，现代派侦探，鸡毛蒜皮的小案子。把这几个关键词拼凑到一起，就是本剧的基本轮廓。

　　Jack唯一的真心朋友是地区检察官的助手Liz Townsend（Jenny Wade，《恶魔猎人》），同时也是他的前女友。Jack并没有忘记他们之间的感情，工作中一遇到麻烦，他还是会不由自主地去找Liz倾述。上司Ana Ruiz（Diana Maria Riva，《灵书妙探》）则是Jack和Dan的「死对头」，把他俩同时调到没有出头之日的「财产犯罪处」去工作－－也许只有处理小偷小摸的案件，这对麻烦鬼才不会给警察局惹大麻烦。
　　Fox预订这部剧集主要是为了对抗在夏季电视市场上唱主角的有线电视网，尤其是USA（《Burn Notice》、《Royal Pains》）、TNT（《Leverage》）等。Fox的总裁称：「只要我们有好的节目，观众就没理由选择看《Burn Notice》这样的剧集而不看我们的剧集了。」

Ben seems to be confused as to how much time and money his kids demand from him. Susan has to juggle motherhood, a career and a husband and does not have enough time to manage everything including improving her cooking skills. Nick is always working on his next hair-brained scheme to keep him amused.
